For the third consecutive season in a row, the Seattle Seahawks were in the conversation about being a Super Bowl contender in 2015. However; they did not make their third trip to the Super Bowl.
On the other hand, the Seahawks transitioned from a team that leaned heavily on the running game lead by former running back Marshawn Lynch, to a ball club that is now able to put up points through the air. Quarterback Russell Wilson had an MVP-like season when he posted career highs in passing yards (4,084), and touchdown passes (34) in 2015.
Another member of the Seahawks that had a breakout campaign in 2015 was wide receiver Doug Baldwin. Baldwin had 1069 yards receiving and 14 touchdown receptions last season. Baldwin proved to the Seahawks coaching staff and front office that he is more than capable of being the team’s number one option at the wide receiver position. As for the defense, it was the same as usual.
They finished 2nd in the league in total defense, 2nd against the pass and 1st against the rush. The Seahawks may not have Marshawn Lynch in the backfield anymore, but the team has the personnel that is more than capable of carrying the load that Lynch left behind.
