Broncos vs Steelers: Game of the Week Prediction

Broncos 26

Steelers 28

After coming off an impressive victory by demolishing the Andy Dalton less, Cincinnati Bengals last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers return home to take on the Denver Broncos. Both of these football teams have playoff aspirations in their minds right now.

The Steelers could grab the 6th seed in the AFC Wildcard hunt if the New York Jets tonight at AT&T Stadium. The Steelers offense will be facing one of the league’s best defenses this Sunday in the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos defense is capable of changing the outcome of a ball game at a moments notice. Their secondary will face the best wide receiver trio in the National Football League today. Whichever defense makes that costly mistake this Sunday will indeed lose this football game.

Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler has done a good job stepping in for the injured Peyton Manning this season, but that’s where it stops. Osweiler is not setting the league on fire by throwing for over 400 yards and five touchdown passes in each of the games that he has started this season, he is a game manager at best.

However, a game manager is what seems to work in the massive conservative scheme of Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak’s offense. Last week the Broncos lost a nail-biter against the Oakland Raiders 15-12. Brock Osweiler was sacked five consecutive times by second-year linebacker, Khalil Mack.

The Broncos offense being too conservative did not have anything to with last week’s loss to the Raiders. Wide receivers dropped numerous passes from Osweiler, and the running game was nonexistent. The Broncos must not allow that to happen again this week against the Steelers.

They are going up against an offense that can put up a significant amount of points to win a ball game. My prediction for this contest is that the Steelers offense will not score at least 30 points in this matchup, but they will prevail in the end. A team that contains the fire power on offense like the Broncos should not be conservative.
